A major city in the west of the the Czech Republic. The brewery makes for an interesting visit. The city has some underground tunnels, and if you want a great view go up to the top of the tower in the church, located in the central square. The bear in the picture to the left was in the local zoo.
Nearby is the small town of Stary Plzenec, where the castle in the first picture is situated on a hill overlooking the town.
To the west of the city, straddling the Czech - German border is Sumava, a beautiful, forested mountainous area.
