Words - Is someone having a laugh,
is this really what these words and acronyms mean?
When they say the pen is mightier than the sword, you have to think about spelling, or should that be spells made up of words. Words can perform magic, we laugh at the cinema over incomprehenisble incantations recited over a boiling pot. Yet think of all the historical book burnings and those writers and journalists who have suffered because of what they wrote. If these words were not so powerful, why would tyranny worry about a silly book or some news article? BECAUSE WORDS CONTROL YOU, THEY CAN MAKE YOU DO MANY THINGS, THEY CAN INFUENCE AND PERSUADE YOU. Words in a book can bring you to tears, or have you giggling silly, words can enrage you they can calm you, WORDS ARE POWER.

Lobby, Lobbyist
Just thinking about words, there is the lobby where folks often meet, a waiting area, so that is where folks talk. When they are talking to persuade in the lobby, they become lobbyists, if they are doing this for a company to influence politicians, they become paid lobbyists.

Cigarettes may not be healthy for me in the long run, but I have the freedom to smoke them anyway. Drinking alcohol may or may not have negative side effects, but even if it does, the government has no authority to prohibit you from consuming it, even if it is "in your own best interest." Since when do we let the government decide what is or isn't good for us? What the hell does Congress know about nutrition, anyway? (For that matter, what does Congress know about the Constitution?) If the government can use force whenever something is "in our best interest" then government should force everyone to wake up at 6am every morning for calisthenics in the front yard. Fast food establishments should be torn down and replaced with bars that serve carrot juice and alfalfa sprouts, since - "it's in your best interest." This paternalistic attitude that "the government knows best" and that you are merely a helpless child is insulting and reprehensible. Hitler used the same attitude to persuade the Germans to subjugate themselves to the "Fatherland."
